Mike Harvey – drum set (class of 1978)

Mike received his B.S. degree in music performance in 1985 from Western Michigan University. He moved to South Florida where he still lives and performs. Mike was the drum camp director for the University of Miami/Ellis Family summer music camp for 18 years.
Most recently he did a three year world tour with Julio Iglesias. He has played shows with Charlie Calello, Leslie Uggams, Randy Brecker, Lesley Gore, Robert Klein, Don Rickles, Lena Horn, Arturo Sandoval, Shirley Jones, Tony Sandler, Greg Abate, Peter Graves, Sunrise Pop Orchestra, Miami Heat pep band, and currently performs with international recording artist Ed Calle and his own band “The Circle”.
Mike has his own production company and has done work for Philip Michael Thomas, Reggae legend Bob Andy, film, commercials and more. He recorded on six songs for one of Englebert Humperdink’s latest releases recorded at the “Hit Factory” recording studio in Miami. He currently is a five year member of the Naples Philharmonic Jazz Orchestra (Naples Florida) under the leadership of ex Saturday Night Live Band Leader Lew Delgato and in that band he has had the honor to back up Mike Maineri, Kevin Mahagony, Benny Golsen, Randy Brecker, Peter Bernstein, Joe Locke, Pat Martino, Russell Malone, Dick Hyman, Jon Faddis, Ira Sullivan, Jason Marsalis and many others.
Mike was just featured with the Philharmonic in a tribute to Art Blakey.
